I never thought in my wildest dreams that I would sell posters as a part-time activity. I hardly even remembered posters existed, except when I could see them through the clutter in my kids room. A few years ago, when the web was still like the wild west, I registered a few domain names. Like everybody else, I thought it was cool to have my own personal email address. I never explored the possibility of making money from a simple website- it just seemed to "cheesy". At the end of the Internet Gold-Rush in Silicon Valley, I was one of thousands of high tech workers who lost their jobs. Overnight, I went from making $12,000 a month to collecting $1200 a month in unemployment. This did not even cover my mortgage payment!

With my feet to the fire, and no jobs in sight (At ANY Price!) I decided to see what I could do as a freelance programmer. I had been formally trained in all the latest programming languages, and managed a department of 50, yet I ended up competing with someone in India who would take a fraction of the pay for basically the same work. Thankfully, my wife was still working as a teacher or we would have been totally broke.
